Animated Business Cards and Promotional Cards
Animated Business Cards - Tutorial
There are 4 ways to make your own custom animated business cards.
1: Chose an existing graphic template from our catalog and we will send a full size version it to you and you can add your own text or other graphics. (Link to catalog of existing animations). Eventually there will be a couple of hundred or so in the catalog. This method is good for those who see what they like in our catalog and can do their own graphics.
2: Chose an existing graphic animation from our catalog and give us your text by email and we will put the text on for you and complete the artwork for you. (an additional fee applies). This method is good for those who see what they like in our catalog but cannot do their own graphics.
3: Design your own card with your own graphics and text by downloading our template and following the easy to follow tutorial. (Link to template and tutorial). This method is best for those who can do their own graphics.
4: If you don’t want to mess with your own design from scratch or you don’t
see anything in the existing animations that you like, just send us 2 images
that you like (your dog, yourself, your storefront etc.) and we can make
a 2 image flip animation that will be personal for you. If desired we will
put your text on the back as well. Contact us for details. This method is
best for those who have an idea what they want but cannot do their own graphics.
METHOD # 1 – You use our Existing Card Templates
1. Pick the desired animation from the thumbnails (See
Card Catalog).
2. Contact us at: info@snap3d.com
and we will send you the full size version (1087 pixels wide X 673 pixels
high) of your desired animation for you to work on. When you have completed
the card to your liking you will contact us again and we will make arrangements
to have you send your completed card design back to us.
3. Do not send the completed design to: info@snap3d.com.
We will give you an FTP site to upload it to.
4. Tip:
Don’t clutter up the animation with too much text on it. It’s better to
put extra info on the back and keep the animation relatively clean. When
animating the text use contrasting colors so that the text stands out.
5. Note:
Once a card is designed there is only reprinting costs after that for future
orders.
METHOD # 2 - Design Your Own Card
1. Download our “Snap 3D business card template” and then
use Adobe Photoshop to create whatever animation, text, design or what have
you on the front of the card. The template has 2 sets of grid lines. The
inner set is text-safe. Do not have any text outside of the inner lines.
The outer grid lines are picture-safe. Do not have any crucial picture elements
outside of these lines but have the picture bleed to the very edge of the
template. The template has a tutorial and the sizes of the safe areas as
Photoshop layers. Of course, these will be deleted on the final card. They
are there for your working reference only.
2. Create or obtain your own animation from various sources
such as computer generated, your own photography (see "Taking
Animation Pictures" Tutorial), clip art, etc. You can
also have your text expand and contract, change colour etc. You can have
one or multiple animations on the same card. Use your creativity.
3. Create a PSD file of your animation with layers and
label the layers and put in order “Cut 1, Cut 2 etc.”up to 6 layers.
4. If you want back printing use the same template and
add text or designs can be full colour. Flatten the text and designs and
add as a layer to your animation file and label “back”.
5. When you have completed the card to your liking you
will contact us again and we will make arrangements to have you send your
completed card design back to us. Do not send the completed design to: info@snap3d.com.
We will give you an FTP site to upload it to.
Tip:
After creating your finished animated business card you can play it as a
GIF animation in Adobe ImageReady or another suitable program to check out
your artwork. I recommend having a 0.2 sec delay or longer between frames
so the animation is slow enough to analyse. If something isn't right you
can go back into the file, fix it and try again.
Note:
Once a card is designed there is only reprinting costs after that for future
orders.
